Strange. It’s hard to live. Hard, to be present at all. Being awake and doing things, mixing in and blend in with society. Mingling with people. You want to enjoy, but there’s so much going through you right now. Hopes and dreams. Within your reach but, you can’t seem to grasp it. Aimlessly walking around a shroud of darkness, in hopes to grab the refreshing light. At times, you feel lost because you are lost. And with each step you take, you begin to wonder if there really is any light at all. And just when you’re at your lowest, the light flickers from afar. So you walk onwards. And as you tread, the darkness wells up within you, you feel it go down your throat. That explains the ache you feel with each setback you receive. Stings, doesn’t it? But then again, the light’s out there somewhere. And all this time, the ‘bad’ thoughts in the back of your head crawls inward. You can’t help but feel maybe there isn’t any light for you. Nevertheless, you walk onwards. You grow old; been ages since you last saw the light. Been ages since you saw anything in fact, all this darkness and whatnot. Everything’s so pitch black after all. And before you know it, you start to reminisce. The baby picking up all the coins lying on the floor. The toddler wanting to become an engineer, doctor and scientist at the same time, secretly wanting to become the president. The preteen promising to never do drugs and study diligently. The teen achieving great grades, couldn’t wait to get into university. Shining all the while; always gave off a radiant aura he did. But his closests were always at their worst, failed to see through his shine, maybe it was too blinding for them. All he wanted was to be remembered, y’know? Too bad he couldn’t be the protagonist . Too bad the light was never his to begin with. After all, it was never meant to be.
